At Kindred/Kindred Circle/Kindred Mums, we promise to treat your data with as much care as a hot cup of coffee!

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

 

1. What we collect & why

To find your perfect mum-match and invite you to our private community groups, we collect:

Identity & Contact Info: Your name, email, and social media handles.

Community Info: Your location and children’s ages (to ensure relevant matching). Providing this info is voluntary. However, if you choose not to provide it, we won't be able to match you with a local group or grant you access to our private community.

2. How we use and share your info

We only use your information for community-building and matching purposes.

Privacy: We will never sell your details or share your social media handles publicly.

Third Parties: We use trusted service providers (like Google) to store and process your data. These providers may store data on servers located outside of New Zealand, but we ensure they have comparable privacy safeguards in place as required by Privacy Principle 12.

 

3. Safety & Security

Your info is stored securely using password-protected systems to prevent loss or unauthorised access. In the unlikely event of a serious data breach, we have a plan to notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner within 72 hours.

 

4. How long we keep it

We only keep your personal information for as long as you are part of our community or as long as necessary to fulfil our matching services, as per Privacy Principle 9. ​If you haven't engaged with us for 2 years after cancelling your subscription, we will securely delete your personal details from our database.

 

5. Your rights (Control)

Under the Privacy Act, you have the legal right to:

Access: Ask us for a copy of the personal info we hold about you.

Correct: Ask us to correct any info that is wrong.

Delete: Request to be removed from our database at any time.
