The Back Story
The Heart Behind Kindred Mums
We all know the saying "it takes a village," but for many of us, that village doesn’t just appear overnight.
Kindred Mums was born out of a simple, personal realization: motherhood is the most meaningful job in the world, but it can also be one of the loneliest. Moving to a new area and navigating the highs of new parenthood - alongside the weight of postnatal anxiety, sleepless nights, and Googling my way through parenting decisions - left me longing for a group of nearby mum friends who just got it.
I needed those "in the trenches" friendships; the ones built on mutual respect, genuine support, and a bit of soul-sustenance. The kind of friendships where we can talk about all the "mum things," but also feel seen as the women we are outside of motherhood. I craved local connections where I could ask for advice or simply hear "what worked for them." Mum friends who bought only reassurance and laughs with zero judgement. Don’t get me wrong, I had a few wonderful people in my bubble - but it still felt like just that: a bubble. I was ready to step out and grow my community.
Our Mission
We’re here to cut through the noise. By matching you with mums who share similarities in personality, hobbies, and daily rhythm, we help you skip the awkward introductions and get straight to the getting to know someone of a similar vibe to make genuine connections. Because motherhood is better when we do it together.
